Panic Attacks, Social Anxiety, OCD and Phobias
Anxiety is a common mental health issue that affects millions of people worldwide. It can manifest in many forms, including panic attacks, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and phobias. As a psychiatrist, I understand how debilitating anxiety can be, and I am committed to helping my patients overcome their anxiety-related issues.
Panic attacks are a common symptom of anxiety and can be terrifying for those who experience them. During a panic attack, individuals may feel like they are losing control, experiencing physical symptoms such as rapid heartbeat, shortness of breath, sweating, and shaking. I work with my patients to identify triggers and coping mechanisms to prevent and manage panic attacks. Therapy, medication, and relaxation techniques can all be effective treatments for panic attacks.
Social anxiety can make it difficult for individuals to interact with others, attend social events, or even leave the house. Social anxiety is characterized by feelings of self-consciousness, nervousness, and fear of judgment or embarrassment. It can be treated with a combination of therapy and medication, which can help patients build self-confidence and reduce feelings of anxiety.
OCD is a type of anxiety disorder that is characterized by repetitive and intrusive thoughts or behaviors. Individuals with OCD may feel like they have no control over their thoughts or actions and may feel compelled to perform certain behaviors repeatedly to ease their anxiety. I work with my patients to develop coping strategies and expose them to their triggers gradually, helping them to overcome their OCD and regain control of their lives.

Phobias are intense, irrational fears of specific objects, situations, or activities. These fears can cause individuals to avoid certain situations, limit their activities, and impact their daily lives. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral therapy and exposure therapy to help patients overcome their phobias. Gradually exposing individuals to their fears can help them build up their tolerance, reduce anxiety, and regain control of their lives.
